Mardi Himal

Want to enjoy the beautiful range and close proximity of the Annapurnas, but don’t want to encounter the typical flow of trekkers? Come experience Mardi Himal!

This newly opened trek offers the best of the Annapurna region, while avoiding the traffic. For 8 glorious days, you can experience some of Nepal’s finest scenery, as well as the proclaimed ‘’friendliest people of Nepal.’’ Your trekking experience will start in the lovely lakeside village of Pokhara. You will drive to Phedi, and from there begin the actual trekking. Within days you will be at the memorable Low & High camps of Mardi Himal (5,588m.) From here you can witness the breathtaking Mt. Machhapuchre. Along this trek you’ll experience rolling rice terraces, traditional villages, rocky paths, streams, rivers, rhododendron forests, tea plantations, and of course spectacular mountain views.

The villagers that inhabit this area are mostly Gurung and Magar people. They are both known for their innocence and bravery. Gurung people often serve in the military both in Nepal, and abroad. They are typically farmers and sheep herders and are known for their love of music. Magar people, while also known for farming and herding, are also known throughout the area for fishing, hunting, and weaving. They are closely related to the Gurung but their tongue is similar to Tibetan and Burmese.

No doubt, a trek through the Mardi Himal area will leave you flush with memories of spectacular views, people, and did we mention, food? Click Here tobook now!
